Registration for the 2025-2026 School year is live on the Roane County Schools Website! Current Roane County students need to update their information in order enroll for next year. New students to OSHS may register on the evening of May 19 or look for times to be posted here for registration on July 23-25.
Roane State is hosting a College and Career Expo at their Harriman campus in the gymnasium on April 23, 2025. The event is scheduled for 4:30pm-6:30pm. The event is intended to help connect students and the community with academic programs and workforce opportunities.
Approximately two dozen local employers have already signed up to participate in the Expo, with additional businesses expected to be added prior to the event. Industries include healthcare, finance, education, engineering, nonprofits, and more.
Roane State’s academic programs will also be represented at the Expo so current and potential students can learn how each educational path at Roane State can lead them to a rewarding career. Info on all RSCC programs can be found online at roanestate.edu/academic programs.

TNReady End of Course (EOC) exams begin tomorrow (Wednesday, April 16) with English I & II testing over part I in the morning. Students need to arrive to school on time with their Chromebooks charged ready to test. Wish our students good luck on their state tests! We know they will do great!

One month from today on Tuesday, May 13, the graduating class of 2025 will take the stage. A couple of members of the Broadcast Journalism Class created Senior Spotlights to be posted over the course of the next month to congratulate our seniors on this accomplishment. We still need a handful of seniors to complete their Form so ask and encourage your senior to do so if they haven't. Without further ado, we are proud of recognize Peyton Allen and Cianna Armetta and congratulate them on their graduation!

We couldn't let Assistant Principal week pass without honoring our favorite assistant principal, Mr. Booth! OSHS is so thankful for all he does for our school and our students. He *might* have run away from our Broadcast Journalism team when they broke out the camera, but Mr. Booth is very much appreciated this week and every week!

A majority of the students who competed scored in the Top 10 in their divisions with Noah Christy, 9th grade, placing 1st in Geometry and Braden Thomas, 10th grade, placing 2nd in Algebra. Today multiple OSHS students WON BIG at Roane State's Academic Festival. The Bobcat Talk Podcast Hosts (Liam Boeke, Zachary Hamby, and Ethan Jones) won 1st place in Journalism Sports Feature. 10th Grader Kiley Alexander won 1st place in the Medical Terminology Spelling Bee. 11th Grader Sarah Yoakley won 1st place in the Spanish Poetry Contest. Congratulations to these students! Next week, the Broadcast Journalism will publish a featured article about the students who competed this week as well as the students who competed in the Math Competition earlier this week.
