Welcome to Bowers Elementary School, 2nd grade! My name is Ashley Ledbetter. This is my fifth year teaching at Bowers Elementary School. I am delighted to be associated with the wonderful students, parents and staff. It is refreshing to see the great sense of community that Bowers prides itself on.
I earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Technological University. I am currently attending Tennessee Technological University for an Ed.S. Degree in Instructional Leadership.
My philosophy as an educator is to meet the individual and group needs of my students in ways that support and challenge them in order to foster the greatest intellectual, social, and emotional growth. I will provide an interesting, challenging, safe, fun, learning environment where my students will gain knowledge and confidence to be life long learners.
Second Grade is a great year where students transition from learning to read to reading to learn. One of my favorite quotes is, "Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn!" -- Benjamin Franklin
On a personal note, I love to be on the lake, go to Dollywood, listen to music, travel, and read a good book! Win or Lose...I am a Tennessee football fan and I also love everything about baseball season.
I am dedicated to your child's success! My goal is to take each child where they are and move them ahead as far as possible in the time that I share with them. I encourage parents to stay involved in their child's academic progress as we partner together and have a wonderful, successful school year! As always, please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
Go Blue Devils!!
I am looking forward to spending many days of learning and laughter with your child.
