Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Bowers Elementary School! My name is Danielle Garceau and I will have the pleasure of teaching your child this school year. This will be my sixth year at Bowers and my seventh year as a certified teacher. Before coming to Bowers I taught one year at Claxton Elementary School in Anderson County. I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2012; I am certified to teach grades K-6. I currently live in Knoxville with my husband, Jared and our daughter, Tommi Kate.
Entering Kindergarten is a huge step not only for the children but also for the parents. It can be a time of mixed emotions for parents. Joy that your child is ready for school, but sadness because he/she is no longer a “baby”! The first year of school will mark one of most important milestones in your child’s life.
I take the responsibility of being your child’s teacher very seriously. Rest assured that I will do my best to make this school year an enjoyable time for your child, but also a time filled with real learning. The children will first learn their letters and sounds, and will advance into little readers! They will also learn about numbers, building on important math concepts including, sorting, counting, graphing, classifying, patterns, measurement, and addition and subtraction. It will be a joyful and exciting year!
I believe that strong parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate through my website, notes, telephone calls, emails, report cards, and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at the school (865-882-1185), send me a written note, or contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mrs. Danielle Garceau
