Message from the Principal

Welcome back!  The first semester is over, and the second half of the school year has started!  Did you make any New Year’s resolutions?  One of my resolutions for the new year is to continue to encourage our students to work hard every day.  We want our children to learn at the highest possible level.  We must look to the future.  Although our children are in elementary school today, they will be our leaders tomorrow.  We want every child to leave Bowers ready to move to the next level.  Our children will need skills for jobs that may not even have been thought of today.  All of us must work together every day to make sure our children have every opportunity to learn the skills necessary for successful living.  Thank you for sharing your children with us.  Please feel free to contact me at any time (882-1185 or cclett@roaneschools.com) with your questions or suggestions.  I want 2012 to be the best year yet for Bowers Elementary School.  After all, our children are our most important natural resource.  Our responsibility to them can never be taken lightly.

What’s going on at Bowers?

Our after-school classes will start on Monday, January 23rd.  Please make sure that you return your registration form to your homeroom teacher as soon as possible!  We have lots of wonderful classes being offered.

Many thanks to Enrichment Federal Credit Union for providing hats, gloves, and winter scarves to many of our students.  The winter months will be much warmer thanks to them!  We are extremely grateful for their commitment to the children of Roane County.

There will be no school on Monday, January 16, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

PTO Meeting will be held Tuesday, January 10 at 6:00 PM in the library.  Discussion will include Valentine’s Day fundraiser and Sham-Walk 5K planning.  We hope that you will attend.
